SDF
Swing Distance Federation
of Jackson Township, Ohio

This is the official site of the Swing Distance Federation, or SDF.  It is a group of distance runners who have a passion for sending themselves flying off of harmless swing sets at incredible speeds.
The SDF was formed in hopes of bringing a newfound sport of competition to the professional level (and to break the monotony of everyday running).  Why was the SDF founded?  People have been jumping off swings since the beginning of time.  People of all ages love to swing.  But no person on this green earth has ever even dreamed of making it into an organized sport.  Well, that has all been changed since December 16, 1998, when the SDF was founded.  Before the SDF, the distance runners of Jackson High School in Ohio only jumped off of swings for fun and/or friendly competition (when the coach wasn't around).  Now, these runners take their swinging a little more seriously.
The SDF is growing larger everyday.  It doesn't seem like there is much interest now ... but Swing Distance is the sport of the 21st century.  The only dream of the SDF is that some day ... Swing Distance will be an olympic medal sport...
